Driver Licence Translation
Driver Licence Translation for Australia
If you hold a driver licence from a Spanish-speaking country, you need a NAATI-certified English translation to drive in Australia and to convert your licence at the road authority in your state.
When you need your licence translated
Each Australian state requires foreign licences to be accompanied by an official English translation. A NAATI-certified translation is the standard accepted by every road authority — from Service NSW to VicRoads, Transport for QLD and beyond.
- Driving legally in Australia on a foreign licence
- Converting your licence to an Australian one
- Renting a car or van in Australia
- Showing identification to police or authorities
- Permanent and temporary residents
- International students and working holiday makers
A driver licence translation is commonly needed when converting your licence through Service NSW, VicRoads, or other state road authorities, and is sometimes requested for Skilled visa and Employer sponsored visa applications.
