State-by-state requirements for foreign licence translation
Each state and territory sets its own rules, and driving on an overseas licence is a different question from transferring it to an Australian licence. New South Wales (Service NSW): To transfer an overseas licence that is not in English, Transport for NSW requires a translation from one of its approved providers — the page lists Multicultural NSW, the Department of Home Affairs, and specified Korean and Taiwanese offices for licences issued by those authorities. The three-month period described there applies to Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand licence holders; temporary visitors are directed to a separate process.
