2. Sensitive information in uploaded documents

Documents uploaded for translation often contain sensitive personal information, including dates of birth, identity numbers, addresses, family details and photographs. We only use these documents to produce your certified translation and to provide customer support related to your order. We do not use them for marketing or any unrelated purpose.

• To prepare, certify and deliver your translation.
• To process payment and issue receipts or invoices.
• To contact you about your order, including updates and delivery.

4. Who we share information with

• NAATI-certified translators and reviewers engaged by Trans Lingo to produce your translation, who are bound by confidentiality.
• Stripe, which processes payments on our behalf and handles your payment details under its own privacy and security standards.
• Trusted service providers that help us run our platform, such as hosting, storage, email and SMS delivery.
• Government agencies or regulators where required by law.

We do not sell your personal information or uploaded documents to any third party.

5. Storage and security

Documents and personal information are stored using secure, encrypted infrastructure. Access is restricted to authorised staff and translators who need it to complete your order. While no system is completely secure, we use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

6. Retention

We keep order records and translated documents for the period required to support you (for example reissuing certified copies) and to meet Australian tax and record-keeping requirements. You can ask us to delete your uploaded source documents earlier by contacting us.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for a particular purpose. We will respond within a reasonable time. To make a request, email admin@translingo.com.au.
