How we translate Peruvian civil records
RENIEC calls the document a copia certificada de acta o partida, and issues it where the register entry has been digitised into its national records (reniec.gob.pe). Where the entry has not been digitised, the copy is normally requested from the municipalidad that holds the original register book, and births registered abroad at a Peruvian consulate are handled through the foreign affairs ministry (gob.pe). Municipal partidas and RENIEC copies use different layouts, and older handwritten register books are common. Our NAATI-certified Spanish translators reproduce the acta number, libro, folio, registrar's wording and any marginal notes, and describe handwriting or illegible sections honestly with a translator's note rather than guessing. We translate the copy you supply; we do not issue, obtain, verify, correct or apostille Peruvian civil records, and we cannot advise on your application. Which record and what form of evidence is required is decided by the Australian authority receiving it, so confirm that with them before you order — a certified translation does not by itself guarantee acceptance.
