Skills Assessment Translation
Hindi Translation for an Australian Skills Assessment
NAATI-certified English translations of the Hindi documents required for an Australian skills assessment. We prepare the complete bundle — identity, civil status, character, academic and employment evidence — with consistent name spelling across every page, for you or your migration agent.
What the decision maker needs from Hindi-language applicants
An assessing authority is checking whether your qualification and your employment map onto a specific ANZSCO occupation, and it can only do that if the grading key, the subject list and the duties are all readable in English.
- Degree or diploma certificate as awarded, including provisional certificates
- Complete transcript with the grading key, maximum marks or CGPA formula
- Experience letters stating position, dates, hours and duties
- Payslips and statutory service records corroborating those dates
- Trade qualification certificates from an ITI or polytechnic where applicable
- Identity documents linking the applicant to every qualification named
NAATI Certification
What is a NAATI Certified Translation?
Every document in the bundle is translated by a NAATI-certified translator and carries the stamp, signature and certification number Australian agencies require. Because one translator handles your bundle, names, dates and institution names are rendered identically on every page — which is exactly what a case officer or assessor checks first.
- Commonly required for Department of Home Affairs applications
- Used for university, government and employment submissions
- Includes the translator's certification statement and details

Frequently asked questions
What the decision maker is assessing
Assessing authorities such as VETASSESS, Engineers Australia, ACS, TRA, CPA Australia and AHPRA compare your qualification content and employment duties to Australian standards. They apply their own equivalence rules, so the translation's job is to reproduce the original faithfully — including grading scales and credit values — rather than to interpret it.
Documents most often translated for this pathway
- Award certificate with the qualification title as issued
- Complete academic transcript with the grading legend and credit values
- Course syllabus or subject outlines where content mapping is required
- Employment references stating position, dates, hours and duties
- Independent employment or social-insurance records corroborating those dates
- Professional registration or licence certificates for regulated occupations
Hindi specifics for this application
VETASSESS, ACS, Engineers Australia, TRA and AHPRA all read the transcript's grading key. Indian marksheets state marks obtained against maximum marks with a division or class, and we translate the key verbatim so the assessor is not left converting a system they cannot see. Provisional certificates are translated as provisional, never upgraded in wording.
Hindi is written in Devanagari, so every name has to be transliterated rather than copied. The same name can legitimately appear as Kumari, Kumaree or Kumarī, and Australian databases store whatever the passport machine-readable zone holds. North Indian records often use a father's name or husband's name field instead of a surname, and many older certificates show only a given name with 'S/o' or 'D/o' followed by the father's name. We reproduce the Devanagari exactly and render names as recorded; where a spelling differs from your passport, flag it with your order and check the receiving organisation's supporting-evidence requirements. Dates run day/month/year; certificates issued before the 1990s sometimes carry a Vikram Samvat date alongside the Gregorian one, and both are rendered.
Order of work and timing
Translate the qualification bundle as a single order so terminology, institution names and dates stay consistent across every page. Employment evidence follows, and any additional documents the assessor requests are added to the same file so the whole bundle reads as one coherent submission.
Where these applications stall
- Grades converted to an Australian scale in the translation, which assessors treat as interference with the source document
- Duty statements paraphrased towards ANZSCO wording rather than translated literally
- The award translated without the transcript, when almost every assessor requires both together
- Uploading only the front of a digitally signed certificate and omitting the QR code, verification URL or MEA apostille sticker, which breaks the verification chain a case officer expects
- A father's-name field on the Indian certificate being treated as a surname on the Australian form, producing an avoidable name-discrepancy request
